- Meconium: Meconium is an extremely useful specimen for detecting drug abuse in a mother during pregnancy. This may help physicians treat a newborn’s withdrawal symptoms and gain insight into possible explanations for prematurity, growth or neurological abnormalities, or to simply prescribe appropriate and relevant follow-up services. We recognize the importance of rapid turnaround time in this market and will report negative screens within 8 hours of specimen receipt, and Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry confirmations within 24-48 hours. Consultation with our professional staff is also available to assist your needs.
- Autopsy: Postmortem toxicology testing needs can vary greatly from case to case. Testing can also vary greatly from laboratory to laboratory. MEDTOX has developed a process to guide forensic pathologists in their decision of forensic toxicology test panels. Our professional staff assists in determining optimal use of an available specimen while minimizing cost.
