Dr. Mark G. Catlin, M.D.
Medical Director, Laboratory
Education:  Doctorate (Medicine), University of Minnesota; BA (Biology), Gustavus Adolphus
Experience:  Medical Director for Three Rivers Pathology in Minnesota. Board Certified in 1986, Anatomic and Clinical Pathology; in 1999, Cytopathology
MEDTOX History:  Dr. Catlin began working as a consultant for our clinical diagnostics laboratory in 2002. Dr. Catlin joined MEDTOX full-time as the Medical Director in August 2007. As Medical Director, Dr. Catlin oversees the daily operations of the clinical diagnostics and regional clinical laboratory.
Dr. Karla J. Walker, Pharm.D., DABCC, FACB
Clinical Director, Laboratory
Education:  Doctorate (Pharmacy), University of Minnesota; BS (Pharmacy), University of Minnesota; BS (Medical Technology), Mankato State University
Experience:  Diplomate of the American Board of Clinical Chemistry, 1998; and a fellow of the National Academy of Clinical Biochemistry, 2000
MEDTOX History:  Dr. Walker began working at MEDTOX in 1985 as a Medical Technologist. She rejoined the MEDTOX staff in 1993 after completing a doctorate in pharmacy and 2-year research fellowship in pharmacokinetics at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Walker is active in the MEDTOX research mission and functions as a certifying scientist in the review, release, and interpretation of laboratory results.
Gregory C. Janis
Director, Research and Development, Laboratory
Education:  BA (Chemistry) and BS (Biochemistry), Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University; MS (Toxicology), University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill
Experience:  Experience developing and validating analytical and bioanalytical methods for the measurement of pharmaceuticals, environmental toxins, and neurotransmitters using a variety of analytical techniques while working within various universities and contract laboratories, 1992 through 2000
MEDTOX History:  Mr. Janis joined MEDTOX in June 2000 as an R&D Chemist. In 2004, Mr. Janis became an Associate Director and in April 2007, promoted to Director of the Research and Development laboratory. Mr. Janis has been instrumental in the development and validation of high throughput analytical methods for the analysis of pharmaceuticals and drugs of abuse in biological samples.
Dr. Richard A. Lundberg, Ph.D.
Associate Director, CTS, Laboratory
Education:  Doctorate (Pharmacology), University of Minnesota; BS (Biology), Bethel University; BA (Life Science Education), Bethel University
Experience:  Forensic Toxicologist, Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, 2000-2004; Adjunct Professor of Biochemistry for Hamline University in Minnesota, 2003; New York State Department of Health, Forensic Toxicology certification, 2005
MEDTOX History:  Dr. Lundberg joined MEDTOX in 2004 as an Associate Director of the Clinical Trials Services laboratory. Dr. Lundberg directs CTS laboratory scientists in conducting bio-analytical analyses in support of pharmaceutical studies and is the primary Principle Investigator for these studies.
